SEIKO Watch Co. – It is a Japanese company that specializes in the production of wristwatches, clocks, and electronic devices. The company was founded in 1881 by Kintaro Hattori in Tokyo, Japan. Originally named Seikosha, the company started out producing clocks before moving into the production of pocket watches in 1895.

Launching in 2023, today, we are offering this special edition watch in collaboration with PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors), it is a Seiko Prospex Sea automatic diver wristwatch reference SRPJ93 (4R35-03W0). Designed for those who treat life as the ultimate adventure, this special edition watch celebrates the spirit of exploration and is perfect for diving enthusiasts.

It is a self-winding watch powered by an original Seiko in-house automatic movement. It features the caliber 4R35, 23 jewels, day indicator, 41 hours power reserve, 21,600 bph, hacking mechanism, Japan made.

The Seiko caliber 4R35, released circa 2011, is used by Seiko Watch Corp. in their own branded watches. The 4R35 was considered to be an upgrade from the popular 7S26 movement as it offers the user the desirable hacking and hand-winding functionality.

This special edition watch boasts a vibrant patterned and gradated blue dial reflecting the surface of the ocean as seen from under water as the sunlight reaches through the waves on the surface with a magnified date calendar. The dial also features LumiBrite hands and markers with a unique blue glow recalling signature PADI colors. The date window is located at 3 o’clock and the dial is also signed with the Seiko logo/name, the Prospex and PADI logos, Automatic and Diver’s 200m.

Following ISO standards for scuba diving, this exceptionally durable timepiece offers a 43.8mm rugged stainless steel case based on one of Seiko’s most iconic diving styles, screwdown crown and caseback, sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on the inner surface. Vibrant blue accents on the blue ceramic uni-directional rotating elapsed timing bezel continue the PADI theme. 200m (660ft) diver’s water resistant.

This watch comes on the original Seiko blue silicone strap with tang buckle. Original Seiko box, warranty card and Seiko Prospex and PADI original tags.

Vintage watches are traditionally smaller than today's watches. Men’s watches typically measure between 29-36mm wide (some larger, some smaller) excluding the crown. We prefer to shoot photographs outside when weather is permitting. However, when we shoot indoors, please be aware that we shoot our photographs inside of lightboxes that are lit with 360 LED bulbs. This indeed magnifies any flaws. Usually, they are much less obvious to the naked eye. Having said that, we never photoshop any of our photography, remove blemishes, etc. We adjust the lighting, when necessary, but what you see is what you are getting, and we take pride in that.
